Should it Stay or Should it go - you decide!

The Planning application directly below would get rid of the 1939 Old Telephone Exchange in Combe Road. The building has for some years been the home of the Swedenborgian Church. It has been empty since being used by Combe Down Primary School when the School's old 'temporary' classrooms were replaced by the new building. Let us know whether you think the Old Telephone Exchange should be saved or not.

Weight Limit Removed

The 3 tonne weight limit imposed just 2 weeks ago at the top of Stonehouse Lane will be removed today. The stabilisation of an area near the junction with North Road has been completed two weeks ahead of the initial estimate.

The suspect area, with a thin roof, was identified under the pavement and a garden in Stonehouse Lane. Traffic should be able to get back to normal later today.

Notice a problem anywhere - tell the council

There is a new web site for reporting issues like litter, damage, repairs in your neighbourhood, to the Council. All you do is key in the post code or street name. You can then pinpoint where the problem is by clicking on a map of the area. You even get an email acknowledement for your records. It really does work - try it!
